Cosmic JS is a content management solution that helps developers build apps faster. When it comes to development time, this solution is 100x faster than WordPress. Before Cosmic JS, developers would have to build and maintain their own CMS infrastructure — requiring hundreds of hours of costly development time for CMS installation and maintenance. With Comic JS, the CMS is instantly available and more secure, and requires no maintenance.

Cosmic JS provides a similar value as other API service companies: Stripe for payments, Algolia for search, SendGrid for email, Twilio for telephony. Cosmic JS is already used by 250+ teams across 100 countries, including Dailymotion, Life is Good, and Aurora Cannabis. Read more about Cosmic JS in TechCrunch.

Our World in Data is a site that shows how and why global living conditions and the earth’s environment are changing. Is the world becoming more violent? Is an end to poverty possible? It’s hard to know because daily news focuses on negative single events, and misses long-lasting changes that reshape the world. Published by a group of Oxford researchers, the non-profit Our World in Data solves this problem by bringing together data and research from disparate sources often buried under jargon in static documents and provides interactive data visualizations and short explainers written by experts. The group’s work is currently funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Read more about Our World in Data in TechCrunch.

Upsolve is a non-profit that helps the victims of our broken financial system erase their debt. They do this through the first TurboTax for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. In 2018, they erased over $16,000,000 in debt for low-income people who suffered from medical emergencies, job loss, and predatory loans. There are over 20,000,000+ people that would benefit from bankruptcy in America, but they’re too broke to get a fresh start because they can’t afford a $2,000 bankruptcy lawyer. Upsolve is funded by Eric Schmidt and won the 2018 NYT Good Tech Award. Read more about Upsolve in TechCrunch.
