We're building fully automated labs for protein engineering
At Adaptyv, our high-throughput cloud lab enables protein designers to experimentally validate their proteins with the click of a button. We're building advanced molecular biology workflows, assay automation and software infrastructure to make it easy for our users to engineer better proteins. Since the launch of our beta access in June 2024 we've been growing rapidly and are now working with the fastest-moving protein design teams in the world , across tech bio startups, major AI companies and the biggest pharmas.
We are looking for highly capable Software Engineering Interns to join our team and help build software product that accelerate protein design. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where you’ll work on backend, frontend, and infrastructure development , ship fast and solve complex problems efficiently.
What You’ll Do
Work across backend, frontend, or full-stack development , depending on your strengths and interests.
Collaborate with our team and customers to build internal or customer-facing software that drives real-world biological discoveries.
Build AI tooling to automate business processes and biology workflows and develop new products that help our customers and our internal teams to move faster
What We’re Looking For
Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
Ideally familiarity with protein design and bioengineering or strong willingness to learn
Proven ability to build and ship projects fast —we value execution over credentials.
Strong coding skills in Python and TypeScript
Experience with AI-driven software development tools such as Cursor, v0, Lovable, Github Copilot and co
Familiarity with modern web frameworks, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Modal), and APIs.
A problem-solving mindset —you can break down complex challenges and develop solutions independently.
Self-starter mentality —you can take initiative, work autonomously, and iterate fast in an unstructured environment.
Application deadline
We are reviewing applicants on a rolling basis.
Proteins are the most advanced nanotechnology we know of. At Adaptyv, our mission is to make proteins easier to engineer. We are building technologies that allow protein engineers to design and test new proteins in order to develop new medicines, better enzymes for research and industrial applications or functional materials with novel properties.
We believe that designed proteins will be at the core of the bio-revolution and radically change how we manufacture goods, treat aging & diseases and even how we think about applications such as computation and data storage. We want to unlock that potential and help advance humanity to a post-scarcity future.
