About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Marketing & Lead Generation: Plan and orchestrate both in-person and virtual events (conferences, webinars, workshops) targeting 911 centers and public safety organizations. Partner closely with our sales team to turn event engagement into interest and qualified leads.
  • SEO & Content Strategy: Lay the foundation for Aurelian’s SEO strategy from scratch. Develop content and keyword strategies to ensure that 911 professionals find us easily. Optimize our website and blog for search visibility, and track results to continually improve our rankings.
  • Brand Messaging & Website: Help define, refine, and evolve Aurelian’s branding and messaging. Ensure our website clearly communicates our value to PSAPs, with compelling storytelling and a consistent, professional brand voice. Update website content and collateral as our product and messaging mature.
  • Guerrilla & Creative Marketing: Dream up and lead guerrilla marketing campaigns and other unconventional outreach strategies to capture the attention of 911 center leaders. This could involve creative direct mail, stunts at industry events, viral content, or any scrappy tactic to get Aurelian on the radar of every PSAP in our market.
  • Cross-Channel Growth Experiments: Wear many hats to test and scale various marketing channels – from email drip campaigns and social media outreach to partnerships with public safety associations. Rapidly experiment, measure what works, and double down on initiatives that drive engagement and sign-ups for demos.
  • Analytics & Optimization: Track the performance of marketing campaigns and events (website traffic, lead funnel, SEO rankings, etc.). Use data to make informed decisions, refining our approach to maximize impact. Share insights with the team and iterate on strategies to accelerate growth.

Qualifications

  • Marketing Experience: 3+ years of marketing experience in a startup or similarly fast-paced environment. Background in growth marketing, demand generation, or community marketing is a plus.
  • Builder Mentality: Proven ability to start initiatives from scratch. Comfortable working without a predefined tech stack or playbook – you’re resourceful and can set up the tools and processes you need as you go.
  • Event & Campaign Expertise: Hands-on experience planning events or webinars and running marketing campaigns that drive lead generation. You know how to create buzz and attract an audience, both in-person and online.
  • SEO Knowledge: Familiarity with SEO best practices and content marketing. You’ve crafted content or managed SEO projects that improved search rankings and inbound traffic.
  • Brand & Communication Skills: A sharp eye for effective messaging and design. Excellent written and verbal communication skills – you can distill complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with our public safety audience.
  • Creative and Unconventional: A creative mindset unafraid to try bold, outside-the-box marketing ideas. You’re excited to experiment with guerrilla tactics and unconventional channels to get our story out there.
