About You — The Role

We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic Head of Talent Acquisition to lead and scale our hiring efforts as we grow. You will play a foundational role in shaping our team, culture, and employer brand.

Our dream candidate is both strategic and hands-on—someone who can build scalable recruiting processes while personally sourcing and closing top-tier talent. You thrive in a fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environment, and you know how to attract world-class candidates to an early-stage, high-impact company.

What You'll Do

  • Define and execute a recruiting strategy that aligns with company growth goals and culture
  • Own full-cycle recruiting for key roles across engineering, product, sales, and operations
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of talent, proactively sourcing for current and future needs
  • Develop and refine interview processes, ensuring efficiency, fairness, and a great candidate experience
  • Implement recruiting tools, ATS workflows, and hiring analytics to improve decision-making
  • Partner with leadership and hiring managers to forecast hiring needs and build high-performing teams
  • Elevate Axle Health’s employer brand through content, events, and engagement with the talent community
  • Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to ensure inclusive and representative hiring
  • Create compelling compensation and offer strategies in collaboration with leadership
  • Optimize onboarding processes to ensure a seamless transition from candidate to employee
  • Track and analyze recruiting metrics to continuously improve hiring efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

Must have…

  • 5+ years of experience in a recruiting or talent acquisition leadership role
  • A proven track record of hiring top talent in a high-growth startup environment
  • Experience running full-cycle recruiting across technical roles
  • Ability to craft compelling hiring pitches and sell candidates on the company’s vision
  • Deep understanding of recruiting tools, applicant tracking systems, and sourcing strategies
  • Experience partnering with leadership on headcount planning and hiring roadmaps
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to close candidates effectively
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) with the ability to build trust with candidates and teams
  • A data-driven mindset with experience optimizing hiring metrics and processes

  • Experience building recruiting processes from the ground up at an early-stage startup
  • Expertise in diversity recruiting strategies and inclusive hiring practices
  • Experience running full-cycle recruiting across both technical roles and non-technical roles
  • Experience scaling a company from 10 to 50+ employees
  • Familiarity with compensation benchmarking and offer structuring
