DevOps Engineer

Bot MD is a Y Combinator funded startup with the mission of Empowering Doctors around the world. We believe that providing doctors with quick and reliable access to clinical information and helping to simplify clinical workflow are essential to improving the quality of patient care. This is a significant need especially in large and underserved emerging markets.

At Bot MD, we believe in building products that delight our clinical users. We are looking for a rockstar DevOps Engineer to join our growing team to help us scale our Bot MD platform to reach more doctors and nurses in hospitals and clinics around the world. We love engineers who are scrappy with a rebellious streak in them, and who are hungry to create impact in helping us scale our product platforms to reach millions of users globally.

In this role, you will help design, build and maintain Bot MD product platforms to deliver production-ready applications to our customers. You will work closely with our CTO and other engineers on the Bot MD engineering team to triage bugs, troubleshoot complex production application related issues across the Bot MD application stack, especially with respect to performance, deployability, reliability and scale.

Our software stack includes Python with Django, golang, PostgreSQL, Redis, Websockets, ReactJS. We run on AWS across multiple regions and private data centers. We use technologies such as Terraform, GitLab pipelines, and various scripting languages to keep things running reliably. You will be working with these technologies to build and maintain robust infrastructure solutions. Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and continuously improve Bot MD’s cloud infrastructure for high availability and security.
• Improve developers’ experience and productivity via automation, continuous integration and deployment pipelines
• Lead information security initiatives across both technical and operational processes
• Build and set up new development tools and infrastructure
• Define SLA/SLOs for our products
• Manage code deployments, fixes and software updates
• Work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
• Review code written by others and analyze results
• Identify technical problems and develop software updates and fixes
• Work with the Bot MD engineering team to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience in operating high-demand, mission-critical production cloud environments
• Proficiency in one of the major cloud IAAS (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Proficiency in IaaC technologies, e.g., Terraform, CDK
• Experience in CI/CD pipeline implementation and GitOps methodologies
• Strong skills in programming languages such as Python, Golang, or Bash
• Great communication skills and a good team player
• Never-ending desire to self-educate on the latest list of DevOps technologies
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
