About the role

Every physical good around you sat in a warehouse, and every warehouse tracks their inventory. Almost 100% of warehouses track inventory manually, using barcode scanners and climbing forklifts.

We're Corvus Robotics. We realized: if we could use computer vision & robotics to automatically track inventory, we could improve worker safety, labor efficiency... and use the data to optimize the global physical economy, improving economic prosperity for humanity.

We developed Corvus One™, the world's first fully autonomous warehouse inventory drone. No human pilot, no location stickers, no localization beacons. It uses onboard cameras in real-time, just like Tesla cars, to operate fully autonomously. Dozens of Global 2000-sized companies use our drones, every day and night, across the US.

We're hiring our first Backend Web Dev Engineer (fullstack), a foundational role on the core team (<25 people). The product is de-risked and we have product-market fit; we want our customers to get even more value from the data we collect for them, by improving our customer-facing software. What does the ideal AI-first tracking of the world’s physical economy look like in the future? How can we optimize the economy to increase GDP and human prosperity? Come help answer these extremely hard questions with massive implications for the world if we're right; build beautiful software you're proud of; work alongside excellent people with high standards; and grow rapidly with us.

This role is primarily in-office at Mountain View, CA, with some flexibility for hybrid. Compensation range shown depends on level of experience and responsibilities, and includes material equity.

Must haves:

  • 5+ YOE, CS degree or equivalent working experience
  • Strong in full-stack (primarily backend) dev & cloud infra (e.g. we use Postgres, REST, Python, Docker, AWS), and at least familiar with modern JS frameworks (e.g. we use Typescript & React)
  • Have experience with, or at least curiosity in, WMS / supply chain software, and a broad mind. Like, what does the ideal AI-first inventory tracking of the world’s physical economy look like in the future?
  • You fully own feature development - from building domain knowledge, to reqs/design, through implementation & maintenance.
  • Take pride in delivering a polished, intuitive, and reliable UX with outstanding design (e.g. our designer uses Figma & Lucid)
  • Excellent judgment on tradeoffs between speed, quality, and scalability while delivering products responsibly. Value iterative development and unit/integration testing.
  • Thrives on stepping outside comfort zone, exploring new technologies, proactively seeking out candid feedback for self-improvement
  • Ability to work with founders/team on coordinating software product strategy with GTM strategy
  • Contribute to maintaining and evolving a workplace culture of mutual respect, high standards, no ego, and engaging others with curiosity, openness, & empathy

Not required, but nice to have:

  • Experience writing modern supply chain software, e.g. Manhattan WMS, SAP etc.
  • Modern C++, WebAssembly, PyBind, Python
  • Data visualization, 3D graphics, linear algebra, statistics (we use Three.js)
  • Other web communication standards/libraries like gRPC, GraphQL, WebSockets, or WebRTC

About Corvus Robotics

Every physical good around you sat in a warehouse, and every warehouse tracks their inventory. Almost 100% of warehouses track their inventory using barcode scanners and people climbing scissor lifts. It's dangerous, slow, and full of human error, resulting in $30B of missing inventory annually... from inside their own facilities!

We're Corvus Robotics. We invented Corvus One, the world's first warehouse inventory drones with Level 5 Autonomy®. They use AI and self-driving technology to fly up and down warehouse aisles day and night, helping companies' and governments' warehouses manage their inventory, a crucial operation every warehouse conducts. We're a mission-driven company improving the world's supply chain efficiency, reducing waste, and improving human productivity in a globally essential industry. Come help scale our warehouse inventory AI drones across America!
