About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work on our SaaS security platform. As a full stack engineer, you will design, test and implement new features and improvements to every layer of our service.

What you’ll do:

This role can be tailored to your skills. An average week might look like:

  • extend a backend API and carry those changes to the frontend
  • collaborate with engineers working on our Dependency Autofix pipeline to capture new types of analysis and persist the results to cloud storage
  • optimize the CI pipeline
  • improve resiliency, backoff and rate limiting for external services we consume
  • design a new service alongside the CTO

What you bring

  • Proven experience as a Full Stack engineer (3+ years)
  • Solid grasp of software engineering principles and SDLC
  • Demonstrated ability to write production-quality software in both a frontend (Javascript, Typescript, React, Angular, NodeJS) and backend (Go, Python, NodeJS) ecosystem
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

About our tech stack:

The web platform consists of a React frontend communicating to our backend Go services via gRPC. Providing security analysis and protection for our customer’s software is equal parts web services and an asynchronous job pipeline.

Security and privacy are built into every part of our services. The sensitive parts of the job pipeline – anything that handles customer code – utilizes ephemeral VMs and careful credential management. This role has a unique capability to build or enhance your experience in security principles.

About the interview

Our interview process is quick and simple:

Intro call with EdgeBit’s CTO
This is an informal call for you to get to know more about the role, and for you to evaluate whether it’s a good fit for you. The conversation will cover some light technical discussion around applications and systems you have built or contributed to in the past.

Interview

Interviews are two 1-hour sessions. The first is focused on your background and experience, led by the CEO and an EdgeBit engineer. The second is a technical discussion centered around developing a modern web app application with the CTO and another EdgeBit engineer.

About EdgeBit

EdgeBit helps engineers secure their software supply chain. Dependencies for software products are exploding in number and with that comes a sprawling supply chain. A supply chain isn't just a build-time check, it's highly dynamic.

EdgeBit watches in real time — we cross-reference your build pipelines and server fleet with multiple data sources to communicate your live inventory and actual risk. Our goal is to give this context back to each engineer to prevent useless security investigations and complete the chain of custody as software moves from build to prod.

We're building a distributed company across the United State and our founding team has a strong appreciation for security and the power of open source.
