About the role

About Fella Health

Fella Health helps middle-aged men live 10 years longer.

We are the telemedicine clinic for bigger guys, worldwide. We use medical weight loss treatment to solve our fellas' most pressing healthcare need, then remain a fella's core healthcare provider for the rest of their life - focused on men's health, mental health, and primary care.

We will have served 1 million fellas by the end of 2026, and 10 million fellas by the end of 2028.

Our mission is to solve male obesity worldwide, by accelerating the take-up of GLP-1s in middle-aged men. From this, we’ll become the world’s leading men’s health brand.

We’ve grown >40x since Sept 2022 (currently growing >30% MoM), are cashflow positive, have expanded our state coverage to >90% of US population, and have started to expand our clinical protocol beyond weight (e.g. testosterone)

We're still a young startup and are moving quickly. We have a long way to go. This is still Day 1.

The opportunity as CRO Lead

Fella Health is building a world-class team.

As Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) Lead at Fella Health, you’ll work closely with our Head of Growth, CEO, and design team to shape the vision and execution of our CRO work to improve on-site conversion.

You’ll start by auditing funnels, analytics, landing pages, and campaigns - identifying opportunities to implement page enhancements that drive performance breakthroughs. You'll own the execution of high-impact A/B and multivariate tests through your technical knowledge and analytical rigor.

Over time, you’ll become the optimization expert across the company - planning and launching whole new customer journeys that will make big improvements to our Lead > Sale conversion rate.

This is a full-time remote role.

You'll report directly to our Head of Growth (Dave Lane), as well as work closely with our Lead Designer (Marjoe Bacus) & CEO (Richie Cartwright).

Key Responsibilities

  • Straight away
    • Optimize core conversions
      1. Audit: Audit site analytics to identify the biggest conversion rate opportunities across funnels. Establish an optimization roadmap.
      2. Test: Run A/B and multivariate tests improving page layouts, copy, calls to action, etc to lift conversion rates.
      3. Analyze: Analyze results, quantify lifts, and work cross-functionally to implement winning variants across the site.
    • Refine analytics & reporting - Enhance tracking to address data gaps. Build testing pipelines, dashboards, and reports showing optimization insights and opportunities to the team.
  • In the near future
    • Expand the scope of tests - Move beyond the site to optimize the full customer journey: ads, email, and product flows. You’ll discover & test new conversion rate opportunities that influence core KPIs e.g. CAC & LTV.

Need to have

  • Testing expertise: 5+ years designing and implementing optimization tests that lift conversion rates. Strong grasp of statistics and analytics.
  • Technical acumen: Can build A/B and redirect tests directly via web platforms and tools. Comfortable troubleshooting implementation issues.
  • Creativity: Unique ability to identify and prioritize enhancement opportunities others may overlook.
  • Cross-functional: Proven history of working collaboratively with Product, Marketing, and Engineering to get shit done.

Nice to have

  • Full funnel perspective: Experience optimizing across awareness, acquisition, conversion, and retention phases.
  • Persuasive communicator: Creative storyteller, excelling at conveying complex data analyses through compelling reporting and presentations.
  • Scrappiness: Thrives under ambiguity. Skilled at distilling signals from noise and pivoting smoothly amidst uncertainty.
  • Leadership: Eager to manage an in-house or agency optimization team. Natural mentoring abilities.

Our cultural standards

These are the core cultural standards to which we hold ourselves & our team-members at Fella:

  • Belief in the mission — we will have served 10 million fellas by the end of 2028 and we transform the life of most fellas who join. We have a lot of work to do. We are obsessed with our fellas and are dedicated to the mission.
  • Bulldozing barriers — the world is malleable and we shape it. We truly believe this and act accordingly. We are at the mercy of no-one but ourselves.
  • Unwavering integrity — we are at the frontier, so we often live in ambiguity with no trodden path. When we can’t look to others for guidance, we must maintain impeccable ethics and unwavering integrity.
  • Enduring frugality — we are frugal. We hate being wasteful and we are anti-luxury. We spend our cash wisely & carefully - in a way that would make our grandmas proud.
  • Do what is needed — speed is critical and often the solutions we need are messy. We are comfortable moving quickly and taking on gritty work.
  • End-to-end ownership — we are comfortable owning projects from noticing the problem to delivering the outcome.
  • Dedication to excellence — we are obsessed with our role, with a commitment to compounding self-improvement.
  • Commitment to candor — we believe in open communication and transparency. We are clear & caring communicators, welcoming feedback.
  • Only the paranoid survive — the road of expansion is bumpy. We are not fair weather sailers; we embrace the storms. However much we’ve already done, however far we’ve already come — all our work is still ahead of us.
  • Keep your head down — we’re boring people doing exciting work. We don’t chase short-term status: no media profiles, no bullshit conferences, no investor drinks. We ignore short-term dopamine hits and focus on what matters.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: $30k-$60k/yr total compensation (salary + equity)
  • Vacation: generous PTO with a yearly minimum (>2wks/yr)
  • Remote: our team is fully distributed across the world and functions fully remotely
  • Healthcare: comprehensive medical insurance ($500/yr)
  • Personal development: budget for books, courses, coaching ($400/yr)
  • Personal wellness: budget for gym, health apps ($400/yr)
  • What are we missing? We're still early so you get to shape our culture.

About Fella Health

Fella Health is the telemedicine clinic for men with obesity, backed by Y Combinator. With Fella, patients meet an obesity specialist to prescribe FDA-approved medications, while they undertake personalized health coaching through our app.

Obesity is the largest chronic disease in the US (>$100bn spent each year) and the traditional solution ("move more, eat less") only works long-term for ~10% of people. But obesity treatment is radically changing due to a new wave of medication options which are 3x more effective than previous options. In addition, only 10% of those using weight management services are men: all programs market to women, not tackling the stigma men feel around this.

Fella's founder is Richie Cartwright (https://www.linkedin.com/in/richard-cartwright). Richie personally struggled with binge eating for 6 years. After studying at Cambridge University, he built and sold an AI company working with the UK government. He built a 10k-follower Instagram community around men's binge eating.
