Founding Fullstack Engineer
About the role
Firecrawl is the easiest way for developers to gather LLM-ready data from the web. We’re growing uncomfortably fast and are looking for an ambitious, resourceful, and organized individual to join us as a Founding Fullstack Engineer. This role is perfect for someone who loves startups, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and loves working on deeply challenging web automation developer experience and LLM engineering problems.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and improve our web scraping and crawling API
- Build scalable, developer-friendly APIs and features
- Support 1 week per month; you have to be willing to talk to customers
Requirements
- Expertise in TypeScript, React, Express, Kubernetes, and GCP
- Experience with Supabase, PostgreSQL
- Previous experience scraping and crawling
- Worked on side projects or startups you’re proud of.
Bonus
- You’re a Firecrawl user/customer who understands the value of the service
- You have experience with Queue systems

About the interview
Our interview process is designed to give us a sense of your skills and ambition while respecting your time. It can include but is not limited to:
1 - 15 min interview to talk about your background, personal goals, and how they align with the challenges we face at Firecrawl
2 - 1 hour interview to talk about your technical experience
3 - 2-3 hour take-home challenge to see problem-solving skills
4 - 30 min - 1-hour review and culture fit interview

Firecrawl is the easiest way to extract data from the web. Developers use us to reliably convert URLs into LLM-ready markdown or structured data with a single API call. We crossed 19k GitHub stars in just 6 months and have had paying customers since day one.
Previously, we built Mendable, one of the first commercially available “chat with your data” applications. We sold to companies like MongoDB, Coinbase, Snapchat, and more. To do this, we spent a surprising amount of time building reliable infrastructure for getting clean data from the web. When we started to see our founding friends rebuilding the same thing, we thought we might be on to something.
