FlexDesk helps corporate occupiers manage their office and coworking portfolios.
Office rent represents the second-largest expense on a company's P&L, with annual global spending exceeding $700B. Corporate real estate (CRE) has transformed from a mere cost center into a strategic value driver. As workplace patterns grow more complex, business leaders require sophisticated operational and data capabilities to enhance workplace effectiveness, achieve carbon neutrality, and optimize costs. This need has become even more pressing as AI takes on a fundamental role across these functions.
FlexDesk is building the product suite to support this transformation and equip businesses with a data intelligence and workflow platform.
About the Role
As a founding engineer, you'll have the opportunity to shape both our technical architecture and company culture. You'll make a significant impact while owning product areas and delivering features from start to finish.
Stack
- Frontend: Next.js + React + Typescript
- Backend: Elixir + Python (misc. services)
- Database: Postgres
- Mobile App: Expo + React Native
- Infrastructure: Vercel, Fly.io, alongside GCP services
Roles and Responsibilities
- Technical design and implementation: Implement scalable solutions independently and deliver features end-to-end.
- Ship fast, ship often: Navigate evolving requirements and get early versions of the solution into customer’s hands.
- Analysis/Judgement: Be judicious about the Pareto principle (80/20 rule) - what can you build that delivers 80% of the value in 20% of the time without compromising on quality.
- Ownership: Provide support, customer success assistance, and implementation guidance directly to stakeholders and customers.

Qualifications
- 3+ years in software engineering and system design
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or other related fields)
- Bonus points
- Previous (vertical SaaS) startup experience
- Previous Elixir + Next.js experience
