About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and driven full-cycle Account Executive to join our team. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and a passion for engaging with early-stage companies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving new business, building and maintaining client relationships, and representing our team at in-person events to connect with prospective clients.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Prospecting

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the tech sector and other early-stage companies in need of accounting services.
  • Ambitiously develop and execute new ideas for outbound prospecting, pipeline management, and networking strategies.
  • Partner with Marketing on outbound targeting and cold outreach campaigns.

2. Sales Process Management

  • Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing, ensuring a seamless client experience.
  • Own and manage a pipeline of both self-generated and pre-qualified leads through value-based, diligent follow-up.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly reports on business results, including conversion rates, client feedback, and lead sources.

3. Client Engagement

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, gaining a deep understanding of their bookkeeping, tax, and tax credit needs.
  • Attend and represent Fondo at local events, networking opportunities, and client meetings to promote services and expand the client base.

4. Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with Marketing and Operations teams to align on sales strategies and deliver tailored client solutions.
  • Leverage HubSpot to track leads, manage sales pipelines, and report on sales activities and performance.

Qualifications

  • Must be based in the New York City Metro area with the ability to attend in-person events and meetings regularly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as an Account Executive in sales. Bonus if you have experience in an early-stage tech startup.
  • Proven track record in sales, with a focus on client acquisition and relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping, tax, and tax credit services, preferably with experience in the SaaS sector.
  • Proficiency in using HubSpot or similar CRM tools to manage sales processes and client interactions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and prospects.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation: OTE $140,000–$160,000 per year, with a 50/50 split between base salary ($70,000–$80,000) and commission.
