Backend Engineer Intern
About the role
Work Description
- Design and implement RESTful APIs that interact with multiple data stores, ensuring low latency, proper monitoring, error handling, and caching strategies.
- Write and optimise complex SQL queries, design relational database schemas, and improve query performance to handle scale efficiently.
- Build reliable, fault-tolerant distributed systems that can scale with increasing load and demand.
Requirements
- Previous hands-on experience in developing backend systems.
- A genuine love for writing clean, efficient, and functional code.
- A hunger for self-improvement and staying updated with the latest technologies.
- Humility in acknowledging mistakes and collaborating with a team of equals.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced 15-member startup team.
Bonus
- Experience in working with containerised applications.
- Proficiency in building backend systems using Node.js.
- Knowledge of React.js and front-end development.
