Software Engineering Intern

Gander is building the next generation of AI technology for the aviation industry (usegander.com), starting in business and general aviation. Our products help aviation operators coordinate maintenance, fleet availability, airport operations, and crew scheduling. We are looking for rockstar interns (2-3) to join us for an immediate start (End of Feb ‘25) and continue on through the summer or convert to a full-time role upon graduation.

Interns at Gander will get to be at the bleeding edge of applying the latest AI technologies to the aviation industry (desktop agents, multi-model LLMs, and more) and get the opportunity to work hands on with aircraft operators. The team is small & based in NYC, however we are planning on several in-person sprints at customer sites and/or locations around the country to bring team members including interns not based in NYC together.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create Great Software: Take product requirements and turn them into beautiful, reliable, and high quality software and multiply your impact with code gen tools
• Full-Stack Progressive Web App Development: Strong understanding of Next.JS, Django, React, V0, and other similar tools
• Product Development: Lead end-to-end technical execution and receive full ownership of the software development lifecycle
• System Architecture: Design and implement the architecture and tech stack that will serve as the backbone for our platform. Balance scalability, speed, and reliability

Key Requirements

• Evidence of End-End Product Ownership: Experience building highly technical and/or well-designed personal projects
• Adaptability: Quickly and iteratively respond to needs of customers and turn product changes around on tight timelines
• Grasp of Code-Gen tools: Experience & excitement to leverage code generation tools
• (Strongly Preferred) Strong Passion for Aviation: Having an innate passion for our customers will help differentiate top candidates
