About the role
What we’re looking for:
- GMT+2 to GMT-6 time zone
- Solid experience with statically typed programming languages. Our core parsing functionality is written in Golang.
- Knowledge of NodeJS, as we use TypeScript for our APIs a large portion of our business logic.
- Ability to develop and maintain systems more complex than typical SaaS platforms, including tackling integration challenges as well as performance and scalability issues.
- (Preferred) Familiarity with Terraform, Kubernetes, and AWS for infrastructure management. We use these tools and so do a lot of our customers.
Examples of challenges we have worked on recently:
- Refactoring our Terraform HCL evaluator to handle monorepos containing thousands of Terraform projects with incomplete data.
- Accurately mapping Terraform resources to their corresponding deployed resources in the cloud.
- Scaled our APIs, interfaces, and onboarding procedures to support customers with thousands of GitHub organizations and tens of thousands of repositories.

Infracost shifts cloud costs left and makes FinOps proactive. It sits in the engineering workflow (CI/CD), and shows the cost impact of code changes (IaC) before the code is shipped to production. This catches costly mistakes before any money has been spent. It also checks to make sure all resources are tagged with your set tagging policy, and runs checks on the code against our FinOps policy packs, ensuring best practices are followed (e.g. GP2 volumes should be GP3).
