About the role

About us

Keye (YC F24) is building the world’s smartest private equity analyst. We are not only focused on speeding up the due diligence process in PE but also helping investors generate alpha in the process. We are the first of a kind in the market and focused on solving the hard problems in due-diligence.

When firms use Keye to analyze deals, they’re tapping into a wealth of diligence knowledge and best practices that are baked into our proprietary analysis engine from over a decade of investor experience. With rapid deal analysis, firms can easily decide which deals are worth spending time on and then rapidly move forward on the best ones.

We are a group of investors and engineers (Ex-Tesla, Goldman Sachs, Vista Equity Partners, McKinsey, multitude of startups). Our founding team has been part of 4 successful acquisitions as early employees, has over 20 total years of experience in M&A investing, and have been previous founders.

Keye is generating revenue and has grown 600% in the past 6 months (some press about our growth here) . We're backed by some of the best investors in Silicon Valley including Y Combinator, General Catalyst, Sorenson Capital, PlugnPlay etc.

Role Overview

We’re looking for an Investment Banking / Private Equity Analyst or Associate to join our team. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our platform delivers accurate, high-quality analytics to customers. From scrubbing and preparing client data to validating Keye’s outputs against “gold-standard” examples, you’ll be at the heart of product quality and feature testing. You’ll also collaborate closely with our product team to shape the roadmap, add new analyses, and bring the best possible experience to our customers.

This is a unique blend of finance expertise, data quality control, and product ownership—perfect for someone with investment banking or private equity exposure who wants to be hands-on in an early-stage startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Quality & Validation:
    • Clean, organize, and validate client data when uploaded to the Keye platform.
    • Compare platform outputs with Excel-based or internal reference benchmarks (“gold-standard” examples).
    • Proactively spot inconsistencies, diagnose the root cause, and liaise with engineering to resolve data issues.
  • Customer & Sales Support:
    • Assist the sales team by preparing demo datasets and ensuring flawless client trials.
    • Work directly with customers to understand their data structures, help onboard their datasets, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Product Testing & Development:
    • Heavily involved in testing new features; create test plans and systematically record feedback.
    • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to propose improvements, develop new analyses, and shape the future roadmap.
  • Financial Analysis & Insights:
    • Leverage your finance background (IB/PE) to enrich Keye’s library of analyses (cohort, retention, census, etc.).
    • Ensure these analyses conform to industry best practices and deliver meaningful insights to customers.

Who You Are

  • Finance Pro: You have 1–4 years of Investment Banking or Private Equity experience where you honed your data analysis, modeling, and quality-control skills.
  • Data Curious: You enjoy rolling up your sleeves to dive into messy datasets, solve puzzles, and ensure everything ties out perfectly.
  • Analytical Mindset: You’re comfortable comparing platform outputs to Excel-based models and identifying root causes for discrepancies.
  • Detail-Oriented: Nothing escapes your notice. You pride yourself on accuracy and consistency.
  • Tech & Product Enthusiast: You get excited about new features and like to brainstorm how product enhancements can address real-world customer needs.
  • Startup Mentality: You thrive in a fast-paced environment, take ownership of your projects, and don’t mind wearing multiple hats.

Why Join Keye?

  • High Impact: You’ll see the tangible results of your work on the product and our customers’ experience.
  • Top-Tier Backing: We’re funded by Y Combinator, General Catalyst, Sorenson Capital, and other high-profile investors.
  • Learning & Growth: You’ll collaborate closely with founders and a cross-functional team of technologists, gaining exposure to both advanced AI applications and the intricacies of private market dealmaking.
  • Culture of Ownership: We value autonomy, innovation, and an entrepreneurial spirit. You’ll have the freedom to experiment and the support to succeed.
  • Competitive Package: We offer a competitive salary, equity, and benefits so you share in Keye’s growth.

About the interview

  1. Intro / Culture Fit (30–45 min): A conversation with one of our founders to get to know you, your interests, and career aspirations.
  2. Technical Fit & Finance Case (60 min): We’ll discuss your prior experience in IB/PE, walk through some example datasets or hypothetical deal analysis to gauge your analytical approach.
  3. Case Study (1-week): A small real-world data project or scenario aligned with the role. Show us how you identify and correct errors, structure data, and analyze results.
  4. Final Presentation & Meet the Team (60 min): Present your findings, share your thought process, and meet more of our team to ensure a two-way fit.
  5. Offer: We’ll move quickly if we see a strong fit.

About Keye

Keye is an incoming Y-Combinator (YC F24) and venture-backed startup focused on speeding up the due diligence process in private market mergers and acquisitions with AI.

Our platform analyzes data rooms in dealmaking using advanced data and machine learning techniques and gives investors 80% of the deal in under 30 minutes, a process that otherwise takes weeks! The output is an interactive diligence report to help funds say no to a deal much earlier and save millions on third-party diligence costs.

Our technical expertise stems from specialized industries such as AI robotics, AI drug discovery, and AI-driven ecommerce advertising.

Keye is generating revenue and has grown 600% in the past 6 months. We also have a long waitlist for early access users, and we're planning to release our beta to them in October. You’ll play a key role on the team, helping launch and ship features daily for users to test and provide feedback on.
