About the role

TLDR; Langfuse is building open-source dev tooling for LLM apps focused on tracing, evals & prompt management. We have significant traction, are growing fast, and are looking for a Founding GTM Engineer to build out our sales and customer success capabilities in-person either in San Francisco or Berlin, Germany.

Langfuse helps teams like Twilio, Samsara, and KhanAcademy understand user interactions with LLM applications and improve them. We’ve raised a $4M seed round from Y Combinator, Lightspeed, and General Catalyst, and tens of thousands of engineers rely on Langfuse today.

Why a GTM Engineer at Langfuse?

GTM Engineering is an emerging discipline that integrates solutions engineering with sales. You’ll have the chance to build Langfuse’s entire go-to-market playbook from scratch while benefiting from a strong inbound pipeline generated by open-source adoption.

  • Future of GTM: You’ll pioneer a new sales-engineering hybrid motion that is rapidly becoming a standard in devtools (see e.g. here, here and here)
  • Inbound Pipeline: Our product-led approach brings in leads from developer interest and open-source usage—your job is to convert that momentum into adoption and revenue.
  • Intersection of Tech + Sales: You’ll bridge product, marketing, and sales, giving you broad ownership over commercial outcomes and the opportunity to directly shape product direction.

Your Role

As our first GTM hire, you will architect and drive Langfuse’s commercial engine end-to-end:

GTM Engineering

  • Own the Full Sales Cycle: From prioritizing inbound leads and managing a robust pipeline, running technical POCs, answering customer questions to negotiating, and closing deals.
  • Technical Evangelism: Help prospective customers understand Langfuse’s architecture and its value for their LLM workflows, offering hands-on guidance.
  • Customer Success: Work towards retention, upsells, and product adoption.
  • Product Feedback Loop: Gather and surface insights from sales and customer interactions to influence roadmap and feature development.

Process & Systems

  • Design & Implement Frameworks: Establish CRM workflows, documentation (playbooks, public content, contracts, order forms), and pipeline processes from the ground up.
  • Experiment & Scale: Refine pricing, packaging, and sales tactics that work in both sales-led and product-led motions.
  • Metrics-Driven Execution: Track leads, engagements, conversions, and outcomes to continuously optimize our GTM strategy.

Technical & Commercial Insight

  • Technical Know-How: Understand LLM/observability tools deeply to tailor solutions and articulate the Langfuse value proposition.
  • Enterprise Focus: Collaborate with technical and compliance stakeholders, ensuring Langfuse meets enterprise standards.
  • Commercial Acumen: Align product development with customer requirements, serving as the voice of the market within the company.

Requirements

  • Hybrid Skill Set: This is a new role - previous experience in any one or more of the following can be a good fit: technical sales, solutions engineering, software engineering, product marketing or customer success
  • CRM Proficiency: Comfortable with CRMs, sales automation and analytics.
  • LLM/Observability: Familiarity with the fundamentals— you should have used Langfuse or similar tools.
  • On-Site Collaboration: Willing to be on-site in SF or Berlin 4–5 days/week.

Bonus Points

  • You’ve tried Langfuse (free account) and have first-hand product experience.
  • You’ve scaled open-source developer-focused products to enterprise success.
  • You’ve led technical POCs or negotiations with engineering leadership in the driver’s seat.

Team & Culture

You’ll join our early core team, working closely with founders Clemens (COO, sales) and Marc (CEO, product/marketing). Clemens is based in SF and the rest of the team in Berlin, Germany. We value autonomy, high performance, and continuous learning—together, we aim to build a small, high-impact organization.

Why Join?

  • Impact & Visibility: Shape the commercial strategy of a fast-growing open-source startup at the cutting edge of LLM technology.
  • Build & Execute: Balance hands-on technical work with designing scalable process that will serve as the foundation of our growth.
  • Technical Depth + Sales Influence: Grow your career at the intersection of solutions engineering, sales, and product marketing
  • High-Growth Environment: Leverage a rapidly expanding inbound pipeline of passionate users and organizations exploring LLM solutions.
