About the role

✨ About Loula

We're building the Headway for birth & postpartum doulas. Loula's platform and provider network supports doulas by simplifying the process of accepting insurance, specifically Medicaid. Doulas typically operate outside of the traditional healthcare system and face enormous administrative challenges when accepting health insurance. Loula is revolutionizing the birth and postpartum care industry by making doula care more accessible to the families who need it the most. Loula handles all doula credentialing, contracting, and revenue cycle management, allowing them to focus on doing what they do best -- providing excellent care to families.

💼 The Role

We are looking for a part-time Revenue Cycle Manager to join Loula’s small but mighty team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about independent perinatal healthcare workers and excited about the opportunity to streamline financial processes in a growing startup. As a Revenue Cycle Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that Loula’s insurance billing and payment processes run smoothly and efficiently.

  • Time commitment: 15-20 hours/week
  • Contract Role: Part-time contract position with the potential for future growth and additional hours as Loula expands.
  • *Please disregard the salary range — this is an hourly position*

🚀 What You'll Do

  • Oversee Revenue Cycle Operations: Manage and optimize the end-to-end revenue cycle process, including medical coding, medical billing, claims submission, and payment collections.
  • Claims Management: Handle the submission, tracking, and follow-up of insurance claims, resolving issues with denied or delayed claims.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance the overall financial performance of the organization.
  • Reporting: Generate and analyze revenue cycle reports, providing insights and recommendations to the leadership team to support decision-making.

👼🏾 Why Loula?

  • Mission-Driven Work: Make a real difference in the lives of families and birth workers by making doula care more accessible!
  • Inclusive Team: Join a close-knit team that values diversity, inclusivity, and the unique perspectives each member brings. We believe in creating a supportive and collaborative environment where everyone can thrive.
  • Growth & Development Opportunities: This role offers the potential to grow into a full-time position as the needs of our team and customers expand, providing you with the chance to grow and take on increased responsibilities within Loula.
  • Impact: Be a key part of a growing company, with the opportunity to define how Loula manages its revenue cycle management processes.

🌱 You Are

  • Experienced in Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management: You have a strong background in medical billing/coding, revenue cycle management, or insurance operations.
  • Detail-Oriented and Organized: You are meticulous in your work, ensuring that all billing and coding processes are accurate and compliant.
  • Independent and Proactive: You can work independently, identify issues, and implement solutions without explicit direction.
  • Mission-Driven: You are passionate about improving perinatal healthcare access and supporting the professionals who make it possible.
