About Role

We’re looking for a tech lead to help build the Omnistrate platform. As a tech lead at Omnistrate, you will be a pragmatic visionary taking on Omnistrate's most challenging problems, someone who can translate both immediate and strategic needs into workable technology solutions. You will be a leader in the organization, a highly visible example of engineering and architectural excellence, who will establish technical standards to move the organization forward, who will be a key driver of Omnistrate engineering values across the team, and who will identify and help mentor future technical leaders in the organization. You will be a leader outside of the organization in technical communities bringing a strong following and technical network and be an external face of Omnistrate Engineering in the industry. For this specific role, we are looking for an experienced engineer, who will define the software architecture, and influence the solution and business strategy to build a next-generation Cloud Platform for the industry.

Required skills and experience

• Experience building services in the cloud
• In-depth understanding of cloud networking, cloud security, cloud compute (k8s) services, and concepts
• Proficiency in any object-oriented programming language. Familiarity with Go is preferable
• 5+ years of experience building and designing new service
• Experience operating large-scale systems
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development
• Experience in leading and mentoring junior team members.
• Able to adapt, fast learner, effective collaborator
• Excellent problem-solving and logical reasoning skills
• Humble and empathetic
• Self-starter with excellent communication skills
• Min. Bachelors in computer science or related field

The ideal candidate

Writing structured, maintainable, optimal, and reusable code is your mojo. While writing such code, you never lose sight of the big picture in terms of design, architecture, scale, and performance. You are the go-to person when a team member is stuck with an issue or a bug that doesn't seem to have any known reason/pattern. With your excellent logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, you love to debug/troubleshoot those problems together. You are a lifelong learner and look forward to learning something new every day. You don't like the status quo and keep challenging and questioning it. You have a strong work ethic and you set a high bar for yourself as well as for your team and you lead by example. You are not afraid of taking risks and trying out new approaches while designing and building systems. You make independent decisions with confidence and at the same time, you are open to constructive criticism.

We will cover some light technical discussion about your past projects. Lastly, we might do a quick programming question

Technical interviews In this interview, we will discuss an open ended design problem and also go over 1 more coding problem

Background and Culture interview We will go over your background in more detail, learn more about the work you have done and also discuss how handled different situations in the past
