About the role

Why Openmart?
Openmart is growing fast, and we’ve built something that people love. We’re making money and are backed by some top investors. We haven’t done any outbound sales, but we see a strong market pull.

What’s Openmart all about?
We’re changing how companies find business contacts and put sales research on autopilot. With Openmart, businesses can access decision-makers and detailed information of businesses on maps. Check out our techcrunch article about our vision.

Why join us?
We’re hiring because there’s still a huge market out there, and we need smart, driven people to help us tap into it. Here’s why you should consider joining:

  • Make a real impact: You’ll be part of the core team, helping us build from the ground up.
  • Growth opportunities: You’ll learn about business, software, and startups directly from the founders.
  • Career-defining experience: You’ll contribute to every part of the business and grow with us.

What will you do?

  1. Cross-Functional Leadership: Leads product, sales, and design teams. Digest customer feedback and translate into product requirements
  2. Strategic Alignment: Ensures product, sales, and design efforts meet company goals.
  3. Effective Communication: Coordinates smoothly between teams. Very clear communication.
  4. Project Management: Manages projects across product, sales, and design.
  5. Problem Solving: Finds solutions to challenges across departments.
  6. Deal Closing: Skilled at closing enterprise deals and able to build relationships.

Is Openmart the right place for you?

  • You thrive on multitasking and love taking projects from start to finish.
  • You're all about efficiency and getting things done without wasting time.
  • Jumping into new situations doesn’t faze you—you learn fast and deliver.
  • You’re a strong communicator, whether talking with the team or clients.
  • You enjoy working independently and aren’t afraid to take the lead.

Who might not be a fit?

This role may not be for you if:

  • You’re looking for a traditional 9-to-5 job. We’re growing fast, and things move quickly around here.
  • You’re not genuinely interested in what we’re building or the industries we’re helping.
  • You don’t enjoy high-pressure environments where priorities shift and you’re managing multiple tasks.
  • You’re not disciplined.

What’s in it for you?

  • Ownership: You’ll be a key player in building something big.
  • Team: Join a talented, close-knit team that works hard and supports each other.
  • Impact: Help shape a company that’s making a real difference for businesses.
  • Learning: Work closely with the founders in Foster City and grow your skills.
  • Perks: Competitive salary, equity, health insurance, unlimited PTO, and fun company events.

**Ready to jump in?**
If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, we’d love to hear from you. Include the phrase “fast track” in your application, and we’ll prioritize your interview process!

About Openmart

We are Openmart and we are creating the world’s largest live directory of local businesses. We help sales professionals query millions of unstructured business data like websites, product catalogs, reviews and socials.

Both of our founders are located in Foster City and we work in a loft where Richard lives in. Both of us have dogs and have a very dog-friendly office!

Team

Richard

  • Richard was a senior software engineer at Cruise working on ML. Then joined as founding engineer at Graft, funded by NEA and GV where he trained and finetuned large-language models.
  • Built an AI agent as weekend project that got on to GitHub trending projects

Kathryn

  • First product manager at Databento, which was funded by Redpoint venture which sells market data API’s.
  • Previously was on various growth teams at Pinterest and ran hundreds of A/B testings.
  • She also runs a DTC tea brand where she experienced the problem that led to the idea of Openmart We’ve known each other at Pinterest back in 2019 and have been good friends ever since. Openmart’s idea stems from our founder’s own pain points. Kathryn faced GTM challenges while launching her beverage brand trying to find great local business leads.
