At QuestDB, we’re building the fastest open-source time-series database on the planet—and we want someone who’s done the zero-to-one thing before to help us tell that story to the world.
We’re hiring a founding member of the go-to-market team, to drive and scale adoption of our open-source product. As a founding team member, you’ll work directly with the CEO, engineering, and product to define our adoption strategy, ecosystem partnerships, product discoverability, and market positioning. You’ll lead the charge in telling our story to the world and shaping how developers and companies engage with QuestDB.
This is not just a content role. It’s a strategic function that blends growth, positioning, product thinking, and technical curiosity. You’ll build systems, not just assets. You’ll ship messaging, not just marketing. And you’ll help shape the GTM engine of a deeply technical product.

Responsibilities
Product Marketing
• Develop clear, engaging product narratives for complex features.
• Build landing pages and positioning assets that convert technical readers into users.
• Work cross-functionally to ensure every product launch is reflected in our outward voice.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Be the connective tissue between product, marketing, and engineering
• Help shape the product roadmap by surfacing user understanding gaps
• Act as a thought partner to the CEO on messaging, partnerships, and growth
Content Creation
• Write and edit blog posts and product explainers that resonate with developers.
• Collaborate with engineering to bring technical accuracy and insight to every piece.
• Own releases and product launches.
Discoverability
• Drive product visibility across open-source channels including GitHub, Hacker News, Reddit, and community aggregators.
• Optimize repository structure, README clarity, and cross-linking for searchability and developer onboarding.
• Improve discoverability through thoughtful metadata, backlinks, and content targeting.
• Collaborate with engineering and developer advocates to align messaging.
Ecosystem
• Identify and pursue opportunities for ecosystem alignment.
• Create positioning and launch content for partnerships and community-led use cases.
• Engage with related projects or platforms to build backlinks, distribution, and mutual reach.
Strategy & Execution
• Own the strategy, execution, and performance of all growth channels — from organic search to paid campaigns and distribution partnerships
• Design and run experiments to increase product visibility and drive user acquisition across. content, SEO, paid, social, influencer, and community-driven channels
• Analyze growth trends and funnel data to inform messaging, content, and campaign. priorities
• Identify and activate ecosystem partnerships that expand QuestDB’s reach.
• Make sure to turn one-off growth wins into scalable, repeatable systems.
Requirements
Nice to Have
• Experience with databases, infrastructure, or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with SQL and time-series data.building systems as you are writing the first draft.
• Past work at a high-performance open-source or API-driven startup.
• Technical writing, documentation, or DevEd background.
•Experience building systems.
