Senior/Staff Software Engineer (Product)

Since the start of Rally, we’ve been a fully remote company. While we have a strong remote first culture, we also value the importance of connecting with your teammates in person. We prioritize quarterly in-person offsites for the entire team with expenses fully paid for. As a Senior/Staff Product Engineer, you’re expected to lead entire features end-to-end, collaborate closely with design to shape projects or initiatives, and deliver reliable and scalable systems. Rally is fully built with Typescript to make it easy for engineers to work quickly across the stack. While we don’t expect you to have a background in all the tools we use, we do expect strong JavaScript fundamentals and an ability to adopt new technology quickly.

What you’ll do

• Build and own zero to one features in the product
• Scale existing features from MVPs to an enterprise grade product
• Lead collaboration with cross functional partners like design, marketing, sales, cs and the co-founders
• Work across the stack (React/NextJS, Node, GraphQL) to turn concepts into working product
• Ensure the product maintains a high bar for security, privacy, reliability, performance, and quality

Interviewing at Rally

Our interview process at Rally consists of three main phases -- intro calls, coding exercises, and a super day where you'll get to meet the whole team.

In the interview process, we'll be assessing your fit for the role and our culture.

Phone Call

Meet with a founder for an introduction call for 30 minutes.

Coding Exercise

You will then conduct a 2 hour coding exercise with two different engineers. Our coding exercises will be based on real problems we’ve faced at Rally rather than leetcode questions.

For the product role, you'll be expected to use Javascript/Typescript to work across both the frontend and backend (API and DB level).

On Site

The last phase of the interview will be an "on site" with the full team (meeting over Zoom). You'll have 3-4 different calls with different members of our team.
