About the role

About Us:

We are a small company, and that means every person on our team makes a big impact. If you thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy tackling complex problems, and love having ownership over your work, this role is for you. We’re building a platform used by scientists and engineers around the world, and your work will directly shape its future.

About the Role:

As a Product Engineer, you'll take full ownership of delivering key features and templates that are integral to our platform. By actively listening to our users – scientists using our platform daily – you’ll help shape the product roadmap and contribute to its continuous improvement.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Delivering high-quality, well-tested features that meet user needs
  • Collaborating closely with our customers and team to ensure we're building the right solutions
  • Demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach to solving challenges
  • Willingness to occasionally travel and connect with our global customers
  • Consistent communication with stakeholders across different teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of core product features and drive them from concept to completion
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and implement new platform capabilities
  • Gather feedback directly from scientists to improve existing features and prioritize new ones
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code for performance and scalability
  • Occasionally travel to meet customers across Europe and the US, providing hands-on support when necessary

Requirements:

  • Ability to take responsibility for tasks and deliver with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Humility, adaptability, and a willingness to collaborate closely with others
  • Experience working with or understanding scientific research and data analytics
  • STEM degrees strongly preferred
  • Bonus: Familiarity with our tech stack: Node.js, Postgres, GraphQL, React.js (bonus but not required)

Why You Should Join Us:

  • You’ll have real ownership over your work, and be able to drive key product decisions
  • You’ll be part of a tight-knit team, where your input and feedback are valued
  • You’ll be building something entirely new, with the potential to transform industrial processes.

About Seal

Opvia is a modern workspace that teams use to document and execute quality managed procedures.

Let me tell you why I think it’s so exciting!

The best way to do this is to share a little about our customers...

They’re teams of smart scientists at life-science companies who are developing changing products, or the processes to manufacture them - from clean meats, to personalised medicines. They want to be able to:

  1. collaborate with ease, and keep track of their work
  2. develop and automate their procedures
  3. have all of their data in one place, so they can move from a traditional hypothesis driven modus operandi, to a data-driven one

And, all of their work needs to be carefully documented and signed off so that it can be later presented to the regulatory authorities.

Our customers are smart people. So we provide them with the building blocks they need to develop with their own solutions.

How do we do that? - Let's chat and we’ll show you :)
