DevRel Engineer
About the role
As a Developer Relations Engineer at Shuttle, you'll be the bridge between our team and developer community. This is a technical role where you'll combine your software engineering expertise with developer advocacy to help shape both our product and community. You'll have the opportunity to influence our developer experience while building technical content, sample applications, and engaging with our growing community.
What You'll Do
- Technical Content Creation: Write technical blog posts, create sample applications, and develop tutorials that showcase Shuttle's capabilities and best practices
- Community Engagement: Actively participate in technical discussions, provide support in our Discord community, and represent Shuttle at developer events
- Developer Experience: Work closely with Engineering and Product to improve our documentation, SDKs, and developer tooling
- Sample Projects: Build and maintain example applications that demonstrate Shuttle's features and integration capabilities
- Technical Education: Create and deliver technical workshops, webinars, and live coding sessions
- Product Feedback: Gather and synthesize community feedback to help shape our product roadmap
- Open Source: Contribute to Shuttle's open source projects and help maintain our public repositories
Must Haves
- Strong software engineering background with 3+ years of professional development experience
- Experience building and deploying cloud applications, with a strong understanding of cloud architecture patterns and deployment models
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, engaging technical content (blog posts, tutorials, documentation)
- Experience participating in developer communities and open source projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Rust development and its ecosystem
Bonus Points
- Active contributions to open source projects
- Previous experience in developer relations or developer advocacy
- Experience with PaaS or cloud infrastructure products
- Background in building developer tools or platforms
- Strong presence in technical communities
- Knowledge and experience of SEO for technical content
- Experience creating technical video content or live streaming
- Previously worked in a small startup or of a entrepreneurial background
- Public speaking experience (conferences, meetups, or workshops)
