We help people with chronic insomnia sleep better, using psychology.
Company background
Stellar Sleep is on a mission to help millions of people worldwide with chronic insomnia get better sleep.
Since our launch in 2022, we have already helped tens of thousands of people get better sleep. Our product works. We have strong clinical data showing best-in-class efficacy and an ongoing clinical study with Harvard Medical School / Brigham & Women’s Hospital sponsored by the US Department of Commerce. Garry Tan (CEO of Y Combinator) even tweeted [ref] about our product!
Our company is profitable and well-funded. We raised a seed round from top investors including Initialized Capital and Y Combinator [ref] and are growing extremely fast.
We’re a lean but highly effective team with prior leadership experience at Google, McKinsey and Airbnb. We’re looking for a founding product engineer who’s an effective IC, interested in healthcare, obsessed with achieving excellence and wants to join us at our office in San Francisco. This is a rare opportunity to work on meaningful projects, contribute to a mission that truly matters, and grow alongside a driven and high-caliber team.
Requirements
You do not need to have a healthcare background in order to apply for this role. We believe that the slope matters more than the y-intercept, and we’re happy to provide you with the guidance and support you need to become an expert in this space.
We are a small team, so each additional hire will play a significant role in shaping our culture. As such, our hiring process is designed to filter for candidates who are both highly motivated and meet our bar for excellence. A key part of our hiring process is the take-home assignment and demo, which assess product, design and engineering skills.
Stellar Sleep is a mobile app that helps people with chronic insomnia get better sleep using psychology. Since our launch, we've helped over 10,000 people improve their sleep and got to $1M in ARR in 9 months, making us one of the fastest-growing digital health companies.
25 million Americans with chronic insomnia are getting inadequate and superficial care advice (e.g. cutting coffee, meditation etc.), when in reality, their sleep problems are often driven by deeper psychological challenges like unresolved anxiety. Stellar Sleep uses psychology to help these people break the insomnia cycle.
