Founding Engineer

At Tally, we're building the future of the audit function with AI, transforming a long-neglected $250b+ global audit services industry. We're well funded with years of runway and looking to bring on a high-functioning Founding Engineer to accomplish our mission.

About the Role

As a Founding Engineer, you will:

• Contribute to the technical vision and product direction as a core team member
• Design, develop, test, and support features for our web and backend applications
• Architect and build cutting-edge AI document extraction and agentic systems
• Build internal tooling for auditors and client collaboration
• Take ownership of projects from concept to production
• Work with the latest large language models and cutting edge AI
• Collaborate directly with clients and accounting firms

This is a full-time on-site role located in San Francisco, CA.

Who You Are

• Customer and product obsessed
• Excited about solving unsolved problems
• Capable of growing into a leadership position and running an engineering team
• Have 2+ years of startup engineering experience; studied CS/AI or have equivalent experience
• Have built and shipped products to end users from zero to 1, and beyond
• Sweat the details (no problem is too small)

Compensation

Compensation for the role is $140-190k with a competitive equity and benefits package.
