About the role

The Role

As a Venture Community Manager, you will be the face of Tandem, engaging with our growing network of startup founders, operators, and teams across the Bay Area. This is an on-the-ground, customer success-oriented role that blends relationship-building, operations, and community engagement. You’ll be responsible for onboarding clients onto our platform, managing office space listings, managing our HQ shared space, and fostering an active community of Tandem users.

Key Responsibilities

Client Onboarding & Success

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new customers, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience over email, Zoom, and in-person
  • Coordinate with property owners, brokers, and office managers to ensure smooth move-ins.
  • Conduct office tours for prospective tenants, providing insights into each space’s amenities and culture

Marketplace Operations & Space Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date space information across Tandem’s platform by regularly engaging with Tandem’s customer base
  • Manage Tandem’s HQ office space with 25+ teams from Y Combinator, focusing on of driving champions for our brand

Community Engagement & Event Planning

  • Act as a community manager for Tandem’s network of startup clients, creating opportunities for them to connect
  • Organize networking events, panel discussions, and coworking meetups to build relationships within the ecosystem
  • Foster a strong local presence for Tandem by representing us at industry events and tech meetups

A People-Person – You thrive on building relationships and are energized by interacting with startup founders, operators, and real estate professionals

Highly Organized & Detail-Oriented – You can juggle multiple responsibilities, from hosting office tours to managing event logistics

Resourceful & Hands-On – You’re willing to wear many hats, whether it’s troubleshooting a client issue, capturing content for listings, or brainstorming event ideas

Growth-Oriented & Adaptive – You embrace experimentation, take initiative, and don’t shy away from trying new things to drive engagement and results

A Strong Communicator – You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and you’re comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels

This is a full-time, in-person role that requires significant travel across San Francisco to visit office spaces, meet with clients, and represent Tandem in the startup community.
