At Tella we’re building the world’s first video product designed specifically for capturing and sharing all the incredible things that happen in our digital world - the screen.
Tella is the screen recorder that edits videos for you.
Our customers are startups, small businesses and creators. They’re people and teams who need the outcome of video, but aren’t concerned with the process. In other words, they want great videos, really fast.
This means we’re responsible for not just the way Tella works, but also the look and feel of our customers’ videos. The impact of our work stretches far beyond our customer base to the millions of viewers that our customers have.
The role
As a frontend product engineer you’ll ship entire new features from start to finish, with a focus on the user experience and client-side of the product.
That means from the architecture, to the development, to improvements based on user feedback. You’ll work closely with backend engineers and design to bring the product to life.
You’ll also help maintain and improve everything our users currently rely on. Other important points about the you and the role:
- You should enjoy learning new skills and working on unfamiliar things (e.g. video rendering).
- You can connect the dots between technical implementation details and the problem the product actually solves.
- You take a lot of pride in building a beautiful, performant product.
As an early hire you’ll be expected to co-own the product and work autonomously. We’re a small, remote team where everyone is responsible for driving the company forward.

We think the humble screen and camera recording can be so much more. Why? Because the world is remote and almost everything we do happens on a screen. So we’re creating a set of tools that’s focussed on helping people turn their work and ideas into fun, engaging videos.
