About the role

Software Engineer - Migrations Trayd

What is Trayd?

US Construction is a $1.4T industry ridden with crappy software and manual processes.

Trayd is a construction payroll and back office platform designed for specialty contractors and their workforce. We automate tedious every day tasks, eliminating over 100 hours a month of paper pushing and data reconciliation across siloed platforms. Our application is the all-in-one back-office platform covering payroll, scheduling, HR, accounting, and certifications - a $6+ billion annual opportunity.

Trayd has raised $4.5M from world class investors like Suffolk Technologies, Bloomberg Beta, and Y Combinator. Come join us!

Role Overview

We invite an ambitious Software Engineer to be an integral part of the Trayd engineering migrations team. You’ll work directly with the CTO to ensure seamless customer migrations and onboardings for enterprise-scale operations. You’ll build low-fidelity features to address immediate customer needs, and collaborate with the feature team for further refinement. You’ll also support onboarding efforts while identifying and addressing inefficiencies to scale capacity.

Trayd operates in-person five days a week in Soho, Manhattan and this role will report directly to the CTO.

What You’ll Work On:

  • Own end-to-end implementation of customer migrations, including initial scoping of customer account and LOE assessment needed for account instantiation
  • Engage directly with customers throughout migration - from scoping to account creation - to gather feedback and shape product design.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, customer success, and product) and third party API partners to successfully onboard customers
  • Build the processes and tooling needed to create a scalable onboarding motion

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience: 3+ years of developer experience, preferably at a startup or in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
  • Skills:
    • Fullstack capable with 3+ years of experience as part of a development team
    • TypeScript and Node.js experience with an emphasis on writing clean code
    • Experience integrating and managing data from complex third-party APIs, including handling data migrations.
  • Attributes:
    • Someone excited to be in a customer-facing role
    • Ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear, simple explanations for non-technical stakeholders
    • Self-starter who thrives in autonomy, ambiguity, and can adapt to changing priorities
    • Team player with a collaborative mindset who helps up-level their peers
    • Wear as many hats as needed to drive solutions forward and unblock the team
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy given the nature of payroll

What You’ll Need (bonus):

  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Familiarity with fintech, especially payroll.

Why You Should Join Trayd…

About Trayd

Trayd is a B2B fintech/SaaS platform designed specifically for commercial real estate subcontractors, providing:

  1. A modern workforce management platform that features time-tracking tools that power a streamlined payroll automation, creating efficiencies across time and pay
  2. Earned wage access to workers via weekly direct deposit payments and/or instant, same-day cash-out.

Our obsessive trait is making sure our people get money the second the want it. For workers, we will get them paid within seconds, opening up power over their cashflow for the first time ever

What problem are we solving

As a B2B2C company, we are solving two major problems. For construction subcontractors, we are alleviating back office workflows that are slowing them down, while simultaneously incentivizing their workforce to minimize attrition. For workers, we are getting them paid when and how they need it.
