Trebu is building a coworker for logistics and road freight. We are revolutionizing one of the most critical processes in road freight: the load tendering process. Our mission is to automate the sending, receiving, and responding to load tenders, which are currently handled manually by overwhelmed human agents using WhatsApp and Email.

By focusing on emerging markets, starting with Mexico, we are leveraging AI to transform logistics through deep integrations with WhatsApp (the OS of emerging markets) and email.

The Role: Fullstack Engineer (AI-Powered Applications)

As a Fullstack Engineer at Trebu, you will build and deploy AI-powered applications end-to-end, owning backend services, frontend interfaces, and cloud deployment. You will integrate and optimize AI models within a scalable, production-ready system that automates logistics workflows.

You will also be responsible for designing, testing, and iterating on AI prompts and prompt chains, ensuring their effectiveness in handling logistics tasks. A key part of the role is measuring AI performance and refining workflows to maximize accuracy and reliability.

We are looking for a builder—someone who is passionate about creating AI-driven products but is equally skilled in backend, frontend, and cloud infrastructure. You should feel comfortable working across the entire stack while applying AI in a way that drives real-world impact.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain full-stack applications, from backend APIs to frontend interfaces.
• Design and refine AI prompts and prompt chains, iterating for accuracy and efficiency.
• Build and deploy AI-powered features, integrating foundation models and APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Gemini).
• Implement automated measurement systems to track the effectiveness of AI-generated responses and continuously optimize performance.
• Own system architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Deploy and manage applications in AWS (or similar cloud environments).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to apply AI effectively in logistics workflows.
• Continuously improve automation workflows, reducing reliance on manual processes.
• Stay at the forefront of AI application development and best practices in full-stack engineering.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in software development.
• 3+ years of experience building and shipping end-to-end applications.
• Expertise in Python and Django (or similar backend frameworks like Flask, Node.js, Ruby on Rails, Laravel, etc.).
• Frontend experience with React (or similar frameworks).
• Experience deploying applications to AWS (or other cloud platforms like GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with AI APIs and foundation models and integrating them into production applications.
• Experience in prompt engineering—designing and iterating on prompts for AI-powered workflows.
• Ability to measure AI-generated output quality and refine AI-driven decision-making.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to own and drive projects from start to finish.

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience with generative AI product development (but not just model training).
• Experience designing AI-powered user workflows and automation.
• Strong background in cloud architecture and DevOps.
• Experience in real-time systems or logistics-related software.
