About the role

About us
We’re a YC-backed startup (S21) building a next-gen data integration tool. We’ve raised $4M in funding and hundreds of customers love us including Ramp, Webflow, and Descript.

What we’re building
You probably already know a million different data integration tools. Zapier, Fivetran, Hightouch, Workato, Airbyte, etc.

Each of these tools does a different type of integration:

  • Zapier = automations
  • Fivetran = ETL
  • Hightouch = rETL

We’re building the first ever all-in-one integration tool: syncing, automation, and ETL… all in a single platform. We started with 2-way sync and now we’re building out the rest.

Data integration is a massive market (which is why those million companies exist). We think there’s an opportunity to build the biggest data integration company yet if we do this right.

The team

TL;DR -> mostly senior engineers

Curtis, founder -> ex-Microsoft, sold last company to Google, ex-Google Maps/Area 120

Ryder, engineer -> ex-Google Maps/Area 120

Chris, engineer -> former CTO of Battlesnake, founder of multiple game studios

Matthew, founder -> former founder, PM

The role

Help build out the first ever all-in-one integration tool. We’re 4 full-time, so everyone does a bit of everything. Frontend, backend, talking to customers, product thinking, etc. Whatever the opposite is of just taking tickets.

We’ve purposefully built a small team of highly effective people who require very little management. Same goes for this role. You’ll get to own a ton of the product decisions, help build the culture, and play a key role in creating something special.

Who we’re looking for

  • You live in a US time zone (or alternatively, are willing to work during a US time zone’s work hours)
  • You can be trusted with significant pieces of the product
  • You just know how to get stuff done
  • You’re an amazing communicator (concise, clear)
  • You want the next company you join to be the place you do the best work of your career
  • You’d rather run through walls than rest and vest at Big Tech
  • You’ve had at least one full-time job before (3-10 yrs experience)
  • (Nice-to-have) You’ve previously worked on an integration product (data pipelines, workflow automations, API integrations, etc.)

Our stack

  • Google Cloud
  • TypeScript
  • Node/Express backend
  • Next.js frontend (React, Mantine)
  • Postgres and Redis data stores

How we work

  • Fully remote
  • Use a tool called Gather as our virtual office (think Pokemon x Zoom for work)
  • Only 1 hr of standing meetings per week (30min for planning, 30min for 1:1) so we can do actual work
  • Classic startup software stack (Slack, Notion, Linear)

Benefits

  • Three weeks PTO in addition to holidays and sick days
  • Top-tier health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401k contributions

About the interview

  1. Intro call (25min talking about your experience/what you’re looking for next)
  2. Technical interview (1 hr, don’t have to write any code)
  3. Super Day (full day in the office seeing what it’s like to work here)
  4. References
  5. Offer
