Airhart is making airplanes that anyone can fly. Our advanced flight control systems make flying to Tahoe as easy as driving to the grocery store.
We are Nikita and Brendan and we are excited to launch Airhart Aeronautics.

Our Story
Nikita worked at SpaceX on Falcon and Brendan worked at Apple on the M1. We met at Cornell and led a project team building small unmanned air systems capable of autonomous takeoff, navigation, landing, target recognition, and obstacle avoidance for an international competition.
When we were learning how to fly, Brendan was flying the classic Cessna 172 and Nikita was flying a Cirrus SR20 with a glass cockpit. We had built advanced control systems before and knew what it could and should feel like – these were not it.
The Problem
Common small planes today look, feel, and fly the same way a car from the 1960’s looks, feels, and drives because they were designed and built in that same time. Today, many people don’t see themselves being able to drive a 1960’s manual transmission car, much less a plane from the same era.
Learning the motor skills required to fly a plane today like this adds time, costs, and training complexity. Around 70 to 80% of aspiring pilots drop out before getting their Private Pilot License citing these as reasons.
Our Product
Airhart is building modern airplanes with advanced flight controls that enable anyone to fly safely and with ease. Our aircraft are built with intuitive fly-by-wire controls to expertly fly your plane where you direct it to go. Safety features constantly monitor for the most common causes of accidents and stop issues before they start. Fault-tolerant electronics maintain functionality even if components fail.
This summer we are going to fly an experimental airplane equipped with our advanced flight controls and demonstrate what flying should be. We will be documenting our efforts on our blog.
