Why Us?

Best friends Tannen Hall and Pablo Bermudez-Canete, both AI students from Stanford, founded Paratus Health to fix a problem they experienced firsthand—the broken patient intake process.

For 11 years, Tannen watched his family members - and himself - grow sicker without a diagnosis for a rare disease. They endured months-long waits for every appointment, only to leave with more questions than answers. Each new doctor started from scratch, missing critical details that could have led to the right diagnosis sooner. By the time they finally got answers, it was too late to undo the damage.

That experience left Tannen frustrated with a system that forces patients to wait in limbo while their health deteriorates. He wrote about this problem in his Stanford application, and today, there is no one more determined to fix it.

Now, he and Pablo are building Paratus, an AI-powered intake platform that ensures no patient is left waiting without support and no doctor walks in unprepared.
