Last year, a restaurant chain owner (and close friend) came to us complaining about the time burden of disputing refunds in delivery apps. This is when a customer claims that items were missing from the order, but it wasn’t clear whether refunds were happening because of staff mistakes or customer fraud. They had one employee per location login into UberEats & Doordash portals to handle each disputed order individually, and still they were losing 7% of revenue to fraud - wiping out their profit margin.
We automated the dispute process by providing the kitchen staff with an app to take pictures of ongoing delivery orders. Our AI compares the picture with the actual order and automatically disputes any fraudulent refund claims. He was in love; he recovered up to 94% of refunds, saved staff time and gained visibility about what was happening.
