Problem

Internal tools are incredibly valuable for companies and startups of every size—they give you valuable insights on what’s going on inside your product and speed up complex workflows. Unfortunately, building them is still a pain.

Companies either:

1. Take time to build these from scratch
2. Use existing providers and sometimes spend hours building a dashboard (it should take minutes).

Often times, they know these tools are needed, but it feels wrong to move engineering time away from what matters most: the actual product. Thus, the solution is to either put it in the backlog, or dedicate time building and forever maintaining them.

With Olive, building these internal tools will take minutes.

You can connect your data sources during onboarding, and select which one Olive should read and generate around for each tool. Olive will examine your database schema, write appropriate queries, and generate + deploy a full-stack internal tool.

We’ve been hard at work to ensure the results are consistently high-quality, so that we can use this product ourselves. We’re excited to accept users off our waitlist in the coming weeks, as we support more database integrations and features.

We (Bardia and Shrey) have known each other for almost 6 years (since high school) and realized how much we loved creating products that users love while building Fundsy—a fiscal sponsorship and financial services platform for community projects.

Bardia

Bardia has previously done software engineering internships at Amazon (working on an internal HR tool) and JuiceMind (helping build a collaborative coding education product for schools). Ex-Stanford.

Shrey

Shrey was previously a software engineering intern at Capital One where he built internal tools used to service over 400,000 cardholders/year. He was also a SWE intern at Campsite (workplace communication startup acq'd by Notion) and NASA (satellite data infra org). Ex-UC Davis CS.
