About the role

This is the most exciting time to join a team of just 4 who

  • scaled to 7-figures in ARR
  • serves 180+ customers, including publicly traded co’s
  • built infrastructure that processes billions of $ in annualized sales and forwards billions of events per month

We’re still very small, but have strong traction, and a clear roadmap. You’ll be able to ship cool product — and have huge autonomy and responsibility over what you build.

About us

Converge is building the unified marketing measurement stack for online stores. We make it easy for marketeers to understand where their customers come from, cut unprofitable channels, and scale when things are working.

We graduated from the YC S23 cohort last year. Since then, we scaled to 7-figures in ARR, now serving 180+ customers (including publicly listed companies). All the while, we kept our team very small with just 2 engineers, making this an outsized opportunity to join an early-stage startup with strong traction.

We are well-funded and backed by the founders of PostHog, Algolia, Postscript, Shipbob, Showpad, etc.

Product

We are vertically integrating the modern data stack for marketing teams of online stores by consolidating customer data collection, consent management, identity resolution, transformations, attribution, data forwarding, and analytics into a single platform.

On top of our shared data infrastructure, we have 2 customer-facing products

  • Connections: a CDP for marketing integrations — ‘Segment for e-commerce’
  • Analytics: custom attribution reporting — ‘Amplitude for e-commerce’

These help VPs of Marketing & Growth (1) understand how they acquire customers and (2) optimize their spend allocation for more profitable growth.

How we work

  • We ship product end-to-end. Work is broken down by what problem it solves, not where in the stack the solution lives.
  • High level of ownership. Every engineer is responsible for ensuring that they have all the context they need to ship fast. It’s the founders’ responsibility to make sure that this level of clarity exists in the company.
  • You will be working directly with our customers. We have a weekly support hero who helps out our customers that week. This is an amazing source of customer feedback and helps you build a direct relationship.

Engineers own their projects. Each project aims to solve a concrete customer problem or gap in the product and you’re responsible for shipping product to solve it. These projects take 1 - 4 weeks. On a weekly basis we simply talk about what was done and what should be in the next week, as well as any smaller features to pick up from customer support/sales.

What we value

  • Bias for action.
    • If something seems too hard, we’ll figure out whether it actually is by just giving it a go (it usually isn’t).
    • When bugs, papercuts, or small enhancements pop up, we have a tendency to just get them done instead of needing to plan everything.
  • Always learning. Whether that’s new technologies, going deep on customer problems, or the weeds of the martech space, we don’t know everything, but quickly do when it becomes relevant.
  • Cheerfulness and optimism. Building Converge is a lot of fun.
  • Simplicity. As a small team, we require simple solutions. If you’re malcontent with overcomplicated solutions, and have a natural tendency to simplify, you’ll fit right in.

Requirements

Senior full-stack experience

  • Productive and fast in React (or similar)
  • Comfortable with backend development and databases (Python/Postgres or similar)
  • Knowledge of how production software is deployed and scaled

Nice to have

  • Previously worked at a high-growth software company
  • Previously worked with Clickhouse
  • Deeper AWS knowledge
