We are cooking the world’s best AI customer support agent for SaaS. We are taking on players like Zendesk AI and Intercom’s AI, setting ourselves apart through the most advanced AI foundations, agentic workflows, and a kickass product experience. We are generating revenue, growing very fast, and are well funded by the best investors.

The Role

We’re looking for a founding engineer in person in San Francisco! This is a unique opportunity to blend applied AI research with backend development. In this role, you'll spend 30% of your time researching cutting-edge technologies in AI/LLMs, and the rest time implementing these innovations.

As an AI engineer, you will work on:

  • AI Agent: Build tools enabling AI agents to interact with different systems to perform ticket resolution workflows just like a human agent!
  • RAG: Build cool stuff on RAG (e.g. knowledge graph) to deliver the best answer engine.
  • AI infra - Set up evaluation pipelines, fine-tuning workflows and more.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Backend generalist (Python, Typescript, vector db, AWS).
  • Strong interest in applied AI/LLM.
  • Willing to work in person in San Francisco.
  • Bonus: prev founder, startup experience, active contributor to open source projects (show us your GH!!).

Duckie is an AI technical support assistant that helps customer support teams resolve tickets faster!

We integrate with existing customer support workflows to respond to customers directly, and answer questions that support agents may have. Does a customer need help onboarding? Duckie is there! Is your support agent looking for info on the latest changes to the product? Duckie is there!

Duckie can be installed anywhere, from Slack and Discord to Zendesk and Intercom. And we integrate with both customer support and engineering knowledge bases to go beyond the documentation. By sourcing information from across your knowledge base, we can step in and help out before questions get sent into the void of escalations.
