About the role

As a founding software engineer, you will work directly alongside two technical co-founders to build and ship AI voice receptionist products to healthcare providers. These customers include private practices, telehealth companies, and accountable care organizations. They will soon include health systems as well.

You’ll be responsible for building custom implementations requested by customers, coordinating with other software partners like EHR companies and voice AI providers, maintaining and improving individual AI bots based on requirements from customers (user experience and internal bot pipelines).

This will be a challenging role, and since generative voice AI is so early, you’ll be at the forefront of solving some of the biggest issues affecting real-world use cases today.

*Disclaimer— we are NOT an infrastructure AI company. Since our bots actually call patients, we are the first line of defense when things go wrong. Joining our team requires you to work with customers on things that may be out of your control, but still have empathy and do everything you can to solve their problems.

This is a full-stack role. You’ll be writing front-end and back-end code that gets directly shipped to clients. On the day-to-day, you can expect to be responsible for a client (or multiple) and take ownership of prioritizing deployments and bug fixes that clients need.

LOGISTICS:

In-office in San Francisco, at least 5 days a week

REQUIREMENTS:

Technical degree, training, or real-world experience
Experience writing code and launching some kind of app (mobile/web/any platform; side projects/school/job/any context)
Experience improving/maintaining/fixing something that people actually used

Bonus:

Experience getting a customer to pay for something you built (or trying)

Previous experience working for or starting a startup
Experience in AI, ML, RAG
Experience in signal processing/audio engineering/time-series analysis
Experience with voice AI products

For non-English-speaking patients, AI receptionists can programmatically adjust languages. Or, they can switch dialects to match patient demographics. For systems with thousands of appointments per week, AI receptionists can rapidly execute calls in parallel.
