Senior Full Stack Engineer (f/m/x)

Typewise (Y Combinator S22) is a Swiss-American deep tech company, on a mission to make daily lives easier by decoding human thoughts. We build text prediction software that boosts productivity for customer service and sales by 2-3X. Our enterprise clients include Fortune 500 companies across Europe and the US.

Our product is a browser extension (TypeScript-based) that empowers employees to answer emails and live chats faster and with higher quality across various CRM systems. We use our proprietary AI technology that we develop together with the world-leading ETH Zurich AI Center.

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer (full-time, remote work possible) who will support the further development of our browser extension and web-based admin portal, which is the central hub for our clients to manage their settings. You’ll closely work with other developers, our product designer, and the AI/ML team.

What you will do

• Backend: TypeScript, Node.js (nest.js), Prisma ORM
• Frontend and browser extension: Typescript and React
• Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance
• Solve technical problems of various scope and complexity
• Troubleshoot production issues, may involve speaking directly with our users if required
• Help to define and improve our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment
• Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review

What you bring

• Mandatory: significant professional experience with Typescript and React
• Experience in building full-stack architectures from scratch
• Experience with performance and optimization problems, demonstrated ability to diagnose, fix and prevent these problems
• Self-motivated and self-managing, with strong organizational skills
• Comfort and familiarity with code review process
• Ability to thrive in a fully remote organization
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, contributing positively to team dynamics and fostering a supportive atmosphere

Bonus points for:

• Experience with plugin and browser extension development
• Experience with extending WYSIWYG editor functionality (like CKEditor, Quill, etc.)
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes (K8), and GitHub Actions
• Knowledge of German, French or Italian in addition to English
