What's the history of your company from getting started until the present day? What were the big inflection points?

Vendr was founded in 2018 as the SaaS buying category creator. In 2019, Founder and CEO Ryan Neu applied to Y-Combinator. A few days later, he was on a plane to San Francisco. Vendr grew steadily over the next few years, helping customers negotiate to buy SaaS in a fast and fair way. Vendr secured its $150M Series B funding to forever change how companies find, buy, and manage SaaS. Today, Vendr is one of the world’s largest software buyers, changing how companies buy and sell software.

What is the core problem you are solving? Why is this a big problem? What made you decide to work on it?

SaaS sales is broken. In today’s world, it takes longer to buy software than it does to buy a house. Our Co-Founder and CEO Ryan Neu spent the better part of a decade helping lead sales for companies like HubSpot and InVision. A salesperson by trade and by heart, Ryan kept coming back to a nagging question: Why is it so hard to sell a great product? With averages of 60+ day sales cycles, 20% close rates, and $10k average contract value, it became clear to Ryan that sales was broken. In 2018, Ryan left his job and set out to fix sales.

What is your long-term vision? If you truly succeed, what will be different about the world?

We will fix sales by becoming the world’s largest software buyer, changing how companies buy and sell software. Best product, best price, guaranteed.
