TLDR: Cercli is the modern employee data platform for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). We automate payroll, compliance, reimbursement, onboarding, and offboarding by seamlessly integrating with tools across the workplace.

🤕 Problem

Even today, companies across MENA manage payroll, employee information, documents, onboarding checklists, and a plethora of other tasks manually. They default to spreadsheets, legacy enterprise solutions, and dated basic HR solutions. This causes an array of issues and challenges, including:

• Human error and fraud: Personal employee data is collected and managed manually on spreadsheets, email, and WhatsApp conversations with no tracking or logs.
• Weak compliance: Mistakes due to manual work may result in fines due to incorrect reporting to authorities and extend to non-renewal of operating/trade licenses for the business.
• Costly and lengthy rollout timelines: Legacy providers have steep set-up fees and take months (even years) to complete - and on top of that require consultants or 3rd party vendors to implement the system.
• Poor transparency and employee experience: Employees have little to no visibility into people policies, time off and expenses, and payroll disbursement. This means following up manually with HR over email, slack, or Whatsapp for basic queries.

And still, with NO single source of truth - “a black box”, for a company's greatest asset (and usually largest line item of spend) - its people. Isolated business tools and spreadsheets don't “speak to each other” which causes mismatches in data.

👥 About us

Akeed (right) left MENA unicorn Kitopi, as the Head of Growth and Expansion to begin this journey after encountering the problem at work. Previously, he worked in operations and growth at Careem (acquired by Uber in 2020), where he met now co-founder, David (left).

David was most recently VP of Product & Engineering at Kingmakers (Draftkings for Middle East and Africa). Prior to this, David held product leadership roles at Careem.
