My co-founder, Danny, and I made it dead simple to create and manage multiple AWS environments.

The case for multiple environments

After Samsara and Modern Treasury found PMF, they encountered new requirements as they looked to enterprise and international customers to fuel growth:

• Customers outside the US want their data stored locally.
• Enterprise customers are sensitive to reliability and security. Creating separate environments for customers is an easy way to reduce system risk from outages or security incidents.

So, we went through the painful process of replicating our infrastructure.

The Problem

Even with terraform in place, we needed to:

1. Inventory our AWS account to ensure every resource was captured in Terraform.
2. Modify our CI pipelines to handle multiple environments.
3. Build cross-environment coordination, such as universal login.
4. Right-size the new environment to be cost-effective.

The Solution

♻️Clone your AWS environment

Connect an existing AWS environment you want to clone. We’ll run a CloudFormation stack in your account to give us read access to the source account and write access to the new account.

Clone the environment. We’ll inventory your AWS resources, create copies of each resource in the new environment, and deploy 🚀

✨Right-size your resources automatically

During the cloning process, we’ll downsize each resource to make your new environment as cost-efficient as possible.

🌐Cross-environment coordination

Our synchronization framework can clone items such as S3 files/secrets, unified data for analytics, or support universal login for customers in isolated environments.

Our Ask
