Sunny Singh, Founder

Sunny Singh grew up in supermarkets - his family owns and operates a mid-sized chain in the US. He has carried a passion for food and retail throughout his career. Prior to founding Vendora, Sunny was the Head of US Strategy & Expansion for Uber Grocery/Cornershop. He joined Cornershop from Amazon, where he spent years across their grocery businesses, speciality fulfillment, and search science and AI teams. Sunny graduated from Columbia University and is a proud native New Yorker.

Hey all! I’m Sunny, the founder of Vendora.

tl;dr At Vendora, we build vertical saas for the grocery industry - today we focus on e-commerce enablement, helping grocers make the most of their digital channels. Think of us as Shopify Meets Toast for supermarkets.

Problem

A monumental $800B grocery industry runs on outdated systems and manual processes. In an age where 12% of grocery sales have gone online, many grocers are getting left behind, lacking the tools to adapt and make the most of this emerging channel. Grocers need to adapt to compete with the Amazon and Walmarts of the world.

Solution

Vendora is solving this problem by being the one platform grocers need to engage with customers digitally. We make it easy for them to succeed online.

By connecting with their existing stack, we ingest their data, augment it through our AI powered workflows, and set up accurate, enhanced data feeds to their third parties. We also give them their own storefront (website and app) so they can own more of the customer relationship. Along with all this, we give them the tools to easily manage these channels, optimize their performance, and engage with their customers.

Who am I?

I’ve quite literally have been in the grocery space for my entire life.

I grew up in grocery stores, working in my family’s supermarkets, seeing it go from a single 500 sq ft family store in Queens, NY to a chain of stores. I’ve seen it all first hand (stocking, the register, backoffice, you name it).

Professionally, I was the Head of US Strategy at Uber Grocery coming in through Uber’s acquisition of Cornershop, where I earned my startup stripes. I began my career at Amazon's US Grocery team, worked on ops for Amazon Fresh, and then the Search Science and AI team. I’ve seen how some of the best companies on the planet run things and I’m channeling that expertise into Vendora.
