Problem
There are many stakeholders in commercial real estate (landlord, LP investor, lender, property manager, etc.). At the center of them all is building data: leases, loan documents, environmental assessments, physical conditions reports, etc. Yet this data is analog, manually created and spread across thousands of PDFs and spreadsheets. Bottom line: there is no system of record weaving all stakeholders in commercial real estate together.
This makes mission critical workflows like capital planning and compliance painful. Teams rely on manual, expensive and fragmented consultant engagements, requiring thousands of team hours and millions of dollars in upfront cost, just to know where to take action in order to drive returns and impact across the portfolio. After years of manually hunting down utility data, sifting through static 100-page reports and building one-off financial models for every building in the portfolio, real estate managers are desperate for a better way.
Enter Cambio
We’ve lived this painful user journey. That’s why we built Cambio - to disrupt and automate this process. We use LLMs and agentic workflows to reason across thousands of pages of building documents and help commercial real estate funds identify high-impact retrofits that drive cost savings, compliance and decarbonization. Our AI-based models empower cheaper, faster, and more intelligent data-driven decisions across hundreds or thousands of buildings at scale.
Backstory
We met as roommates at Stanford while pursuing our Masters degrees. On move-in day, we discovered we both worked in commercial real estate and joked over a glass of wine that we should team up to start a company together. The rest is history!
We’re building the solution we wished we had across collectively two decades working at leading commercial real estate players like KKR, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Oxford Properties. We’ve lived the pain point and are ready to deliver our solution to the market.
The Ask
