AI-Native CPQ & Billing for Modern Pricing Models

We are Alguna, building a modern platform that helps B2B companies price deals, send quotes, bill customers, and collect payments - all in one place. Our mission is to create the most efficient revenue engine for B2B SaaS. Today, many companies run these processes with spreadsheets and a patchwork of separate tools. That leads to slow approvals, manual work, mistakes, and missed revenue—especially as pricing gets more complex. Alguna replaces that mess by connecting the entire flow from **quote to cash**: what sales sells becomes what finance bills, automatically. We help teams automate invoicing, handle usage-based or custom pricing, and reduce back-and-forth between sales, finance, and engineering. The result: growth-stage startups and enterprises can close deals faster, bill accurately, and scale revenue operations without adding headcount or building internal systems.

📝 TL;DR:

Alguna is a modern pricing, quoting, and billing platform for B2B SaaS. Companies use it to unify the quote-to-revenue process by automating complex and manual back-office operations. Book a demo to learn more.

❌ Problem

As companies grow, they want to offer more customized deals to their larger customers, capture data around product usage, forecast revenue, and experiment with pricing. As they scale, instead of graduating to better tools, they default to using spreadsheets and manual processes to connect single-point solutions.

After interviewing over 100 company leaders, we’ve seen what consequences information siloes and fragmented solutions can have on the companies’ growth trajectories.
From light issues like hiring people to copy/paste data between systems to fundamental ones like not trusting your revenue data or asking your customers to tell you how much they used your product.

In times of growth at all costs, companies could’ve turned a blind eye to these imperfect workflows; however, as 2023 loomed over the whole SaaS world, these revenue-impacting inefficiencies represent the line between company survival and the slow death of running out of money without even realizing it.

How Alguna works

Our core premise is to enable our customers (growth-stage startups and enterprises) to flexibly close more deals faster without worrying about internal limitations and relying on finance and engineering teams.

We’ve built an end-to-end solution covering the whole customer lifecycle while complementing existing sales (CRMs), finance (ERPs/Accounting), and engineering tools.

Configure pricing & create custom quotes

  • Set up pricing and packaging across all sales channels while supporting any pricing model (including subscriptions, usage-based, platform fees, etc.)
  • Create the most customizable plan options with custom product billing options, one-off integration fees, special discounts, and complex renewal terms.

Streamline the contract signature flow
Alguna provides an embedded signature experience directly from the proposal you send customers. This is then automatically connected to tools upstream (CRMs) and downstream (ERPs), enabling the cohesive external (prospects/customers) and internal experience.

Seamless and reliable invoicing experience
Since the pricing models and quotes are natively integrated, everything is automatically connected with the billing engine, enabling the accurate and reliable customer billing experience directly via Alguna or ERP tools of your choice (Stripe Invoicing, Netsuite, Xero, Quickbooks, Bill)

Source of truth for revenue metrics
Empower sales and customer success teams with usage data to drive more revenue and unlock new upsell opportunities with real-time revenue data.

🏟️ Why us

We (@Jamie MacLeod & @Aleks Đekić) met at a fintech startup where we helped scale the payments and automation teams and products. While trying to launch new products, we experienced this problem firsthand and decided to solve it once and for all. Previously, @Aleks led the product development of internal tools just like Alguna for a 600-person commercial team at one of Europe's fastest-growing payment processing companies.

🚀 What’s next?

We’re on a mission to build the most efficient revenue management engine covering the whole customer lifecycle.

What is the core problem you are solving? Why is this a big problem? What made you decide to work on it?

What is the core problem that Alguna solves?

B2B companies struggle to turn what sales sells into what finance can reliably bill and collect.

Pricing, quoting, contracts, usage, invoicing, and payments often live in different tools—and the “glue” is spreadsheets, manual approvals, and one-off engineering work. As soon as a company introduces custom terms (discounts, ramps, multi-year deals, usage-based pricing, credits, multi-entity billing), the process breaks down: quotes don’t match invoices, billing becomes manual, and finance is stuck cleaning up exceptions every month.

Alguna solves this by providing a single platform that unifies pricing, CPQ, billing, invoicing, payments, usage metering, and collections automation into one quote-to-revenue system.

Why is this a big problem?

Because revenue operations scale poorly when the infrastructure is fragmented.

The impact is measurable:

- Revenue leakage: missed invoices, incorrect pricing, unbilled usage, and manual errors compound over time.

- Slower deal cycles: approvals and “can we even bill this?” questions delay closing.

- High operational cost: finance and revops teams spend their time reconciling systems instead of controlling revenue.

- Engineering dependency: product teams get pulled into custom billing logic, integrations, and edge cases.

- Harder forecasting and reporting: when the source of truth is scattered, finance cannot trust the numbers.

As more companies adopt usage-based, hybrid, and AI-driven pricing models, the gap between modern monetization and legacy revenue stacks keeps widening.

What made you decide to work on it?

We saw the same pattern across fast-growing B2B teams: the product and go-to-market motion moves quickly, but the revenue stack stays stuck in old systems built for simpler subscriptions.

Teams end up running “mission-critical revenue” on spreadsheets and disconnected tools—because replacing them is painful, and building in-house is expensive and distracting. Yet the cost of doing nothing is continuous: every custom deal creates more manual work, more risk, and more leakage.

Alguna exists to modernize that foundation. We’re building the revenue management engine B2B companies need to sell flexibly, bill accurately, and scale without chaos—by unifying the quote-to-revenue lifecycle and automating the back office.

What is your long-term vision? If you truly succeed, what will be different about the world?

We will know Alguna succeeded when B2B monetization stops being a patchwork of spreadsheets, PDFs, and disconnected tools—and becomes a single, programmable revenue engine that companies can run with speed, precision, and confidence.

The world today is stuck with legacy revenue stacks that were built for simpler subscription businesses. Meanwhile, selling is changing fast: companies sell across PLG (self-serve), SLG (custom quotes), and enterprise procurement, pricing models are shifting toward usage, hybrid, credits, and outcome-based, and deep integrations + two-way sync across systems are becoming table stakes. In that environment, “good enough” billing and CPQ breaks down.

Alguna’s vision is to become the one source of truth for revenue—the system that orchestrates pricing, quoting, contracting, usage, billing, invoicing, payments, and collections end-to-end.

What will be different about the world

1) Revenue operations becomes “real-time” and automated

  • Quotes turn into clean billing schedules automatically.
  • Usage becomes billable without manual reconciliation.
  • Invoices and collections run with far fewer human interventions.
  • Finance teams stop doing back-office cleanup as a permanent job.

2) Pricing evolves as quickly as the market

  • Teams can run pricing experiments safely across channels.
  • Guardrails and approvals are built-in, not enforced by spreadsheets.
  • Companies avoid pricing drift, one-off logic, and costly exceptions.

3) Selling becomes faster, with less internal friction

  • Sales can confidently sell complex deals without engineering dependency.
  • Deal desks can scale without becoming a bottleneck.
  • Enterprise flexibility is supported without creating operational chaos.

4) Businesses scale with smaller teams and higher reliability

  • A 10-person team can grow rapidly without inheriting a brittle revenue stack.
  • Forecasting becomes more trustworthy because the underlying system is consistent.
  • Revenue leakage becomes the exception, not the norm.
