🔬 The Problem:
Patent lawyers spend hours drafting patent applications, which can be dozens and even hundreds of pages long. Patent applications include lots of detailed technical description about inventions in a formalistic way that is slow and laborious to write. Many patent lawyers find writing these technical descriptions to be their least favorite part of the job given that it can be tedious.
Moreover, the time-consuming nature of patent application drafting is also a major business problem for patent attorneys. Budgets per patent application have been on a flat or declining trend over the last two decades due to increased client demands. As a result, patent attorneys find themselves having to write patent applications with a smaller and smaller budget, which has led to increased time pressure. In some firms, patent application drafting has become an unprofitable loss leader that only serves to retain clients for more profitable legal services.
In addition to drafting patent applications, patent attorneys also deal with large volumes of documents in the other parts of their job. They often have to analyze long patent documents; they have to respond to patent application rejections from the patent office, which can be dozens of pages long; and they have to work with varying levels of invention information, which range from a few sentences to entire manuscripts.

Vaero is AI software built specifically for patent lawyers to speed up their patent drafting and other daily tasks:
